About Dr. David J. Rosenfeld
Dr. David J. Rosenfeld is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon who provides medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services.
Dr. Rosenfeld grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and attended the University of Missouri where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with High Honors and Phi Beta Kappa distinction. After college, he served as a Teach For America corps member in New York City and earned a masters in education. He then went on to the University of Missouri School of Medicine where he was selected class president and received numerous leadership awards.
He completed his dermatology residency training at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois and during his senior year, served as chief resident. He then completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), one of the top dermatology training programs in the country. During fellowship, Dr. Rosenfeld received extensive training in skin cancer and laser surgery. He is a fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery.
Dr. Rosenfeld is passionate about patient-centered care and providing the highest quality skin cancer treatments available. With a background in teaching, Dr. Rosenfeld believes that effective communication is key in patient education and ultimately, shared decision-making. He has written numerous research articles and is published in three textbooks.
Outside of the office, Dr. Rosenfeld enjoys spending time with his wife (Libby), his daughter (Lena) and his French Bulldog (Madison). He is an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls, St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou Tigers. He loves film and stand-up comedy and enjoys exploring all of the great Chicago neighborhoods and restaurants!
